THE URBAN KNIGHTS ARE RECRUITING FOR 2013-14 - WE WERE FOUNDED IN 1982 AND PATROLLED AS THE VERY FIRST VOLUNTEER STREET SAFETY PATROL. WE HAVE BEEN RECOGNIZED BY BOTH THE CITY AND PROVINCE FOR OUR ENDEAVORS.  WE ARE RECRUITING CASUAL VOLUNTEERS, MONTHLY MEETINGS. SOME TRAINING IS PROVIDED. WE RECOMMEND YOU GET FIRST AID TRAINING.  WE ARE SEEKING MATURE INDIVIDUALS TO ESCORT SENIORS ON OUTINGS FOR SHORT LOCAL SHOPPING ETC. PLEASE EMAIL OR CALL 786-5000 X 1380 FOR INFORMATION. Our goal for 2013-14 is to recruit mature people or others living in apartments/senior's blocks/independent living to act as eyes and ears relating  to security issues and have a close relationship with Management and other surrounding blocks. No intervention would be necessary, reports could be made to Management, UK Supervisors or Police. Escorts could be provided for those residents who request it. DUTIES INCLUDE REPORTING SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY, ADVISING ABOUT HELMET USE, REPORTING PATHWAY HAZARDS TO 311 AND BY LAW ENFORCEMENT, WATCHING OVER SOLE RUNNERS OR BIKERS, FIX FLAT TIRES, ADMINISTER FIRST AID AND HELPING VISITORS WITH DIRECTIONS.
